Fascial Organisation and Lymphatic Systems Around the Pelvic Floor: A Literature Review

This review summarises the anatomy and lymphatic systems around pelvic floor. We investigated lymphovascular network in anorectal region, focusing on hiatal ligament, which comprises smooth muscle fibres derived from longitudinal connecting anal canal coccyx, endopelvic fascia, seems to comprise collagen elastic fibres. During rectal surgery, fascia is recognized as a sheet of covering levator ani muscle. Endopelvic extensively attached diverging rectum. Analysis using submucosal India ink injection indocyanine green fluorescence imaging suggests functional flow between ligament fascia. Precise analysis fascial organization floor may be useful formulating therapeutic strategies for low cancer.
